Live Performance

Brian Holliday (he/him)

has been dancing and DJing for over a dozen years from downtown warehouses to cabins in the woods. Full of sonorous sub-bass and ethereal melodies, his musical style has been described as a journey from “Sea to Space.” He endlessly seeks to better understand how the language of music translates into the language of dance. His passion for this knowledge has led him to create his own music under the alias t3chnobear.

YOUR DJs FOR THE WEEKEND

A’lan Abruzzo (he/him)

loves dancing. A'lan loves music. He considers DJing for fusion a privilege, joy and self-expression. His fusion DJ acumen originated from his early training at swing/blues venues and grew as he became the first music coordinator at Shades in San Francisco. He broke onto the national fusion scene at the Portland Fusion Exchange and since then he's played at SDFX, LVFX, SFFX, DFX, SFFX, MFX, Recess, Seattle Fusion Festival, Albuquerque Fusion Experiment, City in Motion, Emerald City Blues, Mile High Blues, and BAmF, and Hi-Fi. He's looking forward to sharing his love sounds with you and move you into fusion bliss..

Emory Roehrkasse (she/they)

Emory first embarked on their partner dance journey in 2012, and since then they have taught, emceed, competed, organized, DJed, and performed as a lead and follow in Lindy Hop, Blues, Ballroom, Argentine Tango, West Coast Swing, and Fusion dance, all locally and many nationally.  They co-founded their university swing dance club in 2014, co-founded Fort Collins Swing Dance in 2018, and are now an influential member of the state-wide Colorado dance scene, working in multiple capacities with 15 different Colorado partner dance organizations since their arrival in 2016. They are professionally certified in 13 Ballroom dances through Fred Astaire Dance Studios, and are studying numerous other styles in addition to their ten years of Lindy Hop, Blues, and Fusion. Everyone deserves unbridled self-expression in the present moment, and Emory does all of this so all folk they encounter can look and feel great while clowning around, solo or partnered. Save Emory a dance, you’ll be glad you did!

Ian Carberry (he/him)

Steve Yang (he/him)

experiences through reading & responding to the dancers in the room. Drawing from a wide range of musical styles, he has the music library broad enough to cover just about anything that you'd want to hear at a fusion dance!

Wren Forth (they/them)

a newly formed bay area fusion zealot, invites you to join them on a musical journey. This songbird's love language is sharing music, so you're sure to love their mystical blends of soul, trip hop,alt/indie. Come hear the (chirping) songs of their soul!

Angie Huang (she/her)

Cannot be contained

Heidi Fite (she/her)

began dancing, teaching, and djing Blues dances in St. Louis in 1999. She has been dancing, teaching, performing, and djing ever since. An early promoter of Blues dancing, she founded the first national Blues dance workshop (Cheap Thrills), which has since transformed into the nation's largest Blues dance workshop and competition weekend (bluesSHOUT!).

Now busy with family, Heidi no longer runs bluesSHOUT!, but she continues to travel the world teaching Blues dance as a living tradition, with a rich history and an exciting future. From local classes to international workshops to historical research and documentation of the dance, she is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Blues dancing.

This weekend, you can count on her set to put some serious 'boom boom boom' and 'aw haw haw haw' in your dancing.

Jeannie Lin (she/her)

Having DJ-ed and traveled to various corners of the world, Jeannie loves collecting her favorite music along the way.  From the DJ booth, she takes pleasure in tantalizing the crowd by weaving an irresistible, unfolding tapestry of shifting moods and dynamic story arcs.  Saturated with rich beats, sensual rhythms, and emotive melodies, each set is designed with its own unique signature just for that space and moment in time

Joe Gray (he/him)

has been diggin for beats and mixing tracks for over a decade. His musical influences include hip hop, R&B, trap, and any song with thick and juicy bass. Joe loves music that fuses genres and features unique dynamics and silky smooth sounds. Using his local and international network, he is always discovering new and exciting music from top DJ's, teachers, and through events. He regularly DJs at fusion venues in the bay area and internationally at fusion festivals and dance retreats.
